INTERESTED IN JOINING OUR GROUP?

PBS Research Group

We are a group of one of the FCT funded research units of FCUL, the CFMC. The broad goal of the group is the application of methods of computational physics to the study of biological systems. The level of description adopted in our approach is coarse grained rather then detailed, so that the fundamental physical mechanisms at play can be addressed. We are currently interested in the study of populations and of proteins, at the two extreme scales of biology.

Ongoing research topics are:

  • Dynamics of infectious diseases
  • Dynamics of competition and evolution
  • Protein folding, misfolding and aggregation
